FullGage
Maintaining the gauge of the bit is critical to extending
bit life. TuffCutter™ features FullGage, specially formulated
hardmetal designs for high sliding velocities that covers
the full heel area of the cutter. In direct offset applications,
FullGage provides better gauge protection than conventional tungsten carbide
heel pack inserts, as can be seen in the adjacent photos.
Both bits drilled similar footage and hours in a horizontal section in Canada. The TuffCutter bit was graded 1-1.
